We estimate at the moment that over 100 jobs have been lost in Retail alone in Athy over the past few months.

The total drawing the Dole in Athy to the end of jan09.. is over 2000 an increase of 50% on recent years.

An urgent meeting has been arranged in the ,Clannard Court Hotel ,on Febuary 19th at 8pm

It is hoped to launch a Radical Marketing Programme that will involve all businesses working together as a unit if we are to bring in much needed business to Athy .

You will be given a Presentation on the night on options which are available to us as a unit to enable us to meet these challenges head on for 2009 and become proactive in each businesswithout spending a lot of time and money in doing so.

I urge you to come along to hear what can be done even in a recession, it will benefit your business.

It is very important that this Programme is up and running ASAP so I urge you to come to the meeting or send a representative.

There will be a full year’s Programme unveiled on the night but it will require your input.
