Concert in Athy Church of Ireland Church

Concert in Athy Church of Ireland Church on Friday 26th of February at 8pm.

Music by 5th String.

5th String features classsical instruments and performs an eclectic mix of music from classical to rock. No Rules, No Limits!

The classical music they play is easily recognizable, the HB Coronetto advert and the Bord na Mona advert! They also perform more modern tunes such as Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” and Andrea Bocelli’s “The Prayer”. Annie Lennox, Thin Lizzy, Coldplay, and Leonard Cohen also feature in their set.

They believe that there is no tune that cannot be played using classical musical instruments!

Tickets, including a glass of wine and refreshements afterwards in the Parich Centre are €15.

Draft Athy Traffic Management Plan




Kildare County Council and Athy Town Council will hold a joint public information session from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday 3rd February 2010 in the Carlton Abbey Hotel in Athy.

All are welcome.

Public meeting to discuss traffic solutions in the town is being held tomorrow night Tue 26th in the Clanard Court Hotel at 8pm. All are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion.

It’s our turn to SHINE


We have been chosen! The first town in Ireland to launch a new programme to develop a friendly customer based service which will enhance our retail and tourist trade. This is what the customer wants and Athy have been given the opportunity to be first in the recognised delivery programme.
