St. Patrick's Day Parade.



St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Plans for this year's parade are now at an advanced stage. The Athy Town Promoters Group have been meeting on a weekly basis in the Town Council to organise the event, which is scheduled to commence at 2pm from the Kilkenny Road. All local organisations, clubs and businesses are reminded that they should register to take part in the parade by contacting Margaret Walsh, Athy Heritage Centre at 059 8633075 or email athyheritage@eircom.net In addition, musicians, street performers and actors to perform both during and after the parade at a special event in the Back Square.

FREE EVENT FOR CHILDREN!!



Slúa Núa Art Group for 3rd year running is celebrating World Art's Day in Athy. Slúa Núa will take part in this years St Patrick day parade with a theme 'Under the rainbow'. They are inviting all children aged 5+ to come on 20th Feb 2010 to Athy Arts Center in The Methodists church, Woodstock St. to make their costume.

Time: 2pm-4pm

Rude Health Week in Athy


Don’t forget to come to Athy and visit the Healthy Living Centre, Leinster Street on at least one day during Rude Health Week. It begins on Monday 15 February. All sorts of health-focussed activities will be going on that you can participate in and most of them are free.

To avail of the free activities outlined below just drop in to the Healthy Living Centre and tell them which one you would like to try out or give them a ring to book an appointment. Time is limited so the offers will be given out on a first come first served basis.

Kevin Connolly, owner of the Healthy Living Centre, hopes that by introducing people to the many ways they can improve their wellbeing during this week, it will really help them to embrace a naturally healthier lifestyle.

Rude Health Week follows on from the hugely successful Rude Health exhibition at the RDS organised by the Irish Association of Health Stores (IAHS), which takes place each September, and all IAHS stores throughout Ireland will promote Rude Health Week from the 15 – 19 February.
