Congratulations to Athy boxer, Eric Donovan who won gold in the Senior Multi-Nations in Croatia on Saturday night. Eric had failed to take a national title earlier this year and was defeated in the national final. Hopes of qualifying for the Olympics in Beijing are back on the cards after his recent victory over his Russian and German opponents. Roy Sheahan, Tommy Sheahan, Oliver and John Joyce will be Athy’s hopes for qualifying for the games with neighbouring Ross Hickey also being claimed as our own.
