Fun weekend ahead for Castlefarm

Castlefarm is offering a fun filled weekend this Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of June. This weekend’s events at Castlefarm include a beginners guide to keeping hens on Saturday and a free farm walk and opportunity to picnic in the Castlefarm park field on Sunday.

According to Jenny Young, “The beginners guide to keeping hens takes place on Saturday 13th June from 1-4pm. I will take people through the basics of preparing for and keeping hens for eggs. This will be a relaxed, informal class and will allow you to meet the Castlefarm hens. The course costs €40 per person and there is a reduced rate for children under 15 of €30.

On Sunday 14th June at 12pm sharp the free Castlefarm farm walk will take place. This will give people a chance to explore our farm and vegetable garden and meet our cows, hens and bees. We will even allow you to collect your own eggs! Afterwards we will open our field, the park field for people to bring their own picnic baskets and picnic in the park! We will provide some bales to sit on, some ideas for fun games and hopefully a little bit of sun.
