Athy’s first organised CCTV scheme is about to come into operation. Located adjacent to the new swimming pool and in cooperation with the local community 6 CCTV cameras will add to the security of the area and act as a deterrent to petty crime and vandalism. As communities throughout the country become victim of ant-social behaviour the addition of 24 hour monitored cameras should help to encourage more social behaviour.
