Good news for Athy is that the National Ploughing Championship returns to Athy next year. The championship started in Athy in 1931 and it is nice to see it back in its home location. The economic and promotional aspects of the competition will bring great benefits to the town and the surrounding area and preparations will begin in every section of the community almost immediately.
