TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

ROADS ACT 1993

NOTICE OF DECISION

The Council hereby gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994, that it will close to vehicular traffic :

(1) Stanhope Place including the junction with the R417 Monasterevin Road and as far as Mount Hawkins / Chapel Lane;

(2) John’s Lane including the junction with Duke Street and as far as the car park on John’s Lane.

from 09:00 hrs on Wednesday 20^th August 2008 to 16:00 hrs on Saturday 23^rd August 2008

and

(3) Ardreigh Road (Local Road)

from 08:00 hrs on Monday 25^th August to 16:00 hrs on Friday 29^th August 2008

The closures are necessary in order to facilitate road re-surfacing works and in the interest of public safety. Local and emergency vehicle access will be accommodated. Depending on weather conditions, every effort will be made to reduce the actual duration of closures where possible. Athy Town Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to the public.

Alternative routes are as follows:-

(1) In the case of Stanhope Place:- via Stanhope Street or via Kirwans Lane / or Chapel Lane;

(2) In the case of Johns Lane:- via Edmund Rice Square;

(3) In the case of Ardreigh Road:- via R417 / Leinster St / N78 / R418.
